Synthesis and characterization of biodegradable polyurethane with bioactive coating for tissue engineering
- 1. Dept. de Engenharia Metalúrgica, Minas e Materiais (UFMG), MG (Brazil)
Description
The synthesis of polyurethanes for potential application in biomaterials from hexamethylene diisocyanate, poly(ethylene glycol) and polycaprolactone triol was studied. Bioactive coating was performed by immersion in a SBF (Simulated Body Fluid) solution with a concentration 10x higher than the regular one. Analyzes were performed by Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, Fourier Transform Infrared and cytotoxicity assays. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the polymer synthesis and coating method
