Precision calculations of QED effects in atoms

  • 1. Notre Dame Univ., IN (United States)

Description

In this paper calculations in QED that require supercomputer power are discussed. The use of many-body perturbation theory in making predictions of the properties of many-electron atoms is described, and the study of high-Z few-electron ions advocated as a method of studying QED radiative corrections in intense Coulomb fields
