Dose proportionality measurements with the PTW and LiF thermoluminescence dosimeter using the law of square distances
Description
A report is given on measurements with LiF thermoluminescence dosimeters to determine the ratio of measured value to irradiated dose in radiation therapy. Irradiation time and thickness of the plexiglass placed in front of the LiF dosimeter were varied. The result shows that the dosimeter used work proportional to dose at radiation doses between 1 and 300 R. However, calibration measurements indicate that a regeneration of the LiF rods of 35 min at 4000C and 11.5 h at 800C is insufficient. (ORU/LN)
Abstract (German)
Es wird ueber Messungen mit LiF-Thermolumineszenzdosimetern zur Bestimmung des Verhaeltnisses von Messwert zu eingestrahlter Dosis in der Strahlentherapie berichtet. Variiert wurden Bestrahlungszeit und Dicke des vor die LiF-Dosimeter gebrachten Plexiglases. Als Ergebnis wird gefunden, dass die verwendeten Dosimeter bei Strahlendosen zwischen 1 und 300 R dosisproportional arbeiten. Eichmessungen weisen jedoch darauf hin, dass eine Regenerierung der LiF-Staebchen von 35 min bei 4000C und 11,5 h bei 800C unzureichend ist. (ORU)Additional details
