Description
An experimental research on direct contact boiling of an initially subcooled liquid R 114 (dispersed phases) into water (continuous phase) has been carried out whit the aim for verifying the effect of water superheating (difference between water temperature and R 114 saturation temperature at system pressure) and the effect of freon subcooling on the heat transfer process, as well as to check a previous model developed for saturation tests: the subcooling is considered in a acceptable way from this model, because there is no clear dependence of coefficients and b from ΔTsub. The trend of a and b confirm the conclusion reached in the 'saturation' tests, from which the evaporation was aided above all by the great turbulence included by higher inlet velocities, while the non-vaporized freon, falling down, reduces itself as the water superheating ΔTs increases, annealing itself almost for ΔTs equal to 18-20 K
