Irradiation effect on parental and filial correlation of agronomic characters of maize
Description
The single hybrid Shendan 7 and local variety Yunyang Huangmaya were used as the materials of the experiment. Their seeds were irradiated by 60Coγ ray with the dose of 263 Gy. The results showed that single hybrid was more sensitive to 60Coγ ray irradiation than local variety. As compared with single hybrid, local variety had a higher rate of among-ear-system variation in early mutation generation and lower rate in later mutation generation. The M1 and M2 of single hybrid did not correlate among all eight characters, whereas the M1 and M2 of local variety did in plant height and ear position height. Furthermore, the character of single hybrid was more stable and the decreasing rate was larger than those of local variety in successive generations
