Anomalous backscattering and quasimolecular structure of nuclei

Description
The problem of the large angle scattering of compound particles, namely, α-particles, 6Li ions and others, is reviewed. Within the framework of traditional approaches, such as the diffraction or the optical models, it is impossible to describe back scattering. The glory-scattering model, the optical model with l-dependent imaginary part, exchange reactions, the Regge pole method, repulsive core, and other approaches used to explain anomalous back scattering are discussed. The relation is established between back scattering and cluster structure of nuclei
