Negative correlation between radon and ozone at Wittichen

Description
Results of continuous measurements of 222Rn activity and of ozone concentration of the air in the vicinity of the U-rich mining tip at Wittichen are reported. Both trace substances exhibit a pronounced diurnal variability with a negative correlation of the data. The observed facts exclude the possibility that the radioactive decay of 222Rn makes a relevant contribution to the ozone balance of the air. (orig.)
