Pyrometallurgical extraction of tungsten and molybdenum out from polishing slimes of high-speed steels
Description
Consideration is being given to possibility of extracting the most important and expensive components - tungsten and molybdenum - from slime by pyrometallurgical method. Method of tungsten and molybdenum extraction by sublimation and condensation of oxides with successive reduction is described. Industrial oxygen was used as the oxidizer. The dependence of the degree of tugsten and molybdenum extraction from slime on calcination period and the rate of oxygen flow was determined experimentally. The maximal tugsten extraction was equal to 86%, molybdenum-98% at 1623 K sublimation temperature during 2.16X104 s and at 0.05 m/s rate of oxygen supply
