Description
The determination of the W mass through a measurement of the total cross section of e+e- → W+W- process is studied. The model independence of such a procedure is analyzed. While the high energy region is strongly model dependent, this theoretical uncertainty is less severe in the region very close to the nominal W pair threshold. (orig.)
