Technique for structural change study in materials
Creators
Description
An investigation method of structural changes in materials with thickness from fraction of a micron to several microns is suggested. The method consists in that before and after specimen structural changes the heavy nucleus fission fragments are transmitted through the specimen studied, recorded by a solid state channel detector as well as trace sizes from fission fragments on the detector surface are measured. In such a way a structural material change is estimated by the corresponding changes of trace size or density. Trace size measurement is carried out by a biological microscope with an errow less than 1%. The method suggested permits to expand the material physical investigation range and to increase structural change measurement sensitivity in the thin specimens
