Method for the fabrication of filamentary superconductors
Description
There is produced a superconducting intermetallic compound, e.g. Nb3Sn. For this purpose a precursor is formed in the shape of a copper-plated niobium thread by repeated drawing technique through reduction nozzles. Several niobium threads are to be embedded within a copper matrix on which Sn is coated in a number of layers. The copper matrix is then homogenized by an inward diffusion of Sn at temperatures between 230 and 7600C. (RW)

Es wird eine supraleitende intermetallische Verbindung, z.B. Nb3Sn, hergestellt. Hierzu erfolgt die Bildung eines Vorlaeufers in Form eines kupferplattierten Niobfadens durch eine wiederholte Ziehtechnik durch Reduktionsduesen. Mehrere Niobfaeden sind in eine Kupfermatrix einzubetten, auf die Sn in mehreren Schichten aufgebracht wird. Eine Einwaertsdiffusion von Sn bei Temperaturen zwischen 230 und 7600C homogenisiert dann die Kupfermatrix. (RW)Files
