Description

This manuscript presents an overview of the current experimental situation regarding measurements of the atmospheric neutrino flux. Data from two large underground water Cherenkov experiments suggest a deficit of muon-type neutrinos. Interpretation of this deficit in terms of neutrino flavor oscillations has been made. Further experiments are required to confirm the oscillation interpretation. (author)
