Electrochemiluminescence involving uranyl sulphate in concentrated sulphuric acid
Description
The possibility of electrons as a source for uranyl excitation and its application as an analytical tool is being investigated. Uranyl sulphate in concentrated sulphuric acid was electrolysed using both single and double compartment cells with platinum electrode. It is operated by means od a d.c source. For the double compartment cell only visual observation is done while that of the single compartment cell, the intensity of light emitted was measured in a Farrand's spectrofluorometer and a chart recorder. The detection limit obtained was 8x10 m (1.5 ppm). (author)
