The calculation of dose equivalent quantities in the ICRU sphere for photon energies from 0.01 to 10 MeV
Description
Previous Monte Carlo calculations of dose equivalent quantities in the ICRU sphere for photons have been refined. More up-to-date input data are used and the statistical uncertainty of the results has been reduced to less than 1%. Values of the shallow and deep dose equivalent indices, and the dose equivalents on the central axis at depths of 300, 1000 and 2000 mg.cm-2 for photon energies from 10 keV to 10 MeV are presented for a broad parallel beam and an isotropic field. In addition information on the angular distribution of dose equivalent at 1000 mg.cm-2 is given. (author)
