Potentiometric studies of some bivalent metal chelates of 2-hydroxy-3-isopropyl-6-methylbenzylidene-aniline

Complexation equilibria of metal complexes of UO22+, Cu2+, Ni2+, CO2+, Cd2+, Zn2+ and Mg2+ with 2-hydroxy-3-isopropyl-6-methylbenzylidene-aniline have been carried out potentiometrically. The stability constants of these chelates were determined in 75:25 percent (v/v) dioxan-water medium by Calvin-Bjerrum titration technique at 25deg +- 0.1 maintaining ionic strength 0.1 M. The order of stability of chelates is found to be UO22+ > Cu2+ > Zn2+ > Ni2+ > Co2+ > Cd2+ > Mg2+. (author)
