Description
Male swiss albino mice received whole body gamma radiation at a dose level Gy. Acute ultrastructure damage induced in a variety of cells of the intestinal mucosa has been studied three days after exposure using the electron microscope. Thiols protector (2 mercaptomethy glycine) was intraperitoneally injected 30 min post irradiation at a concentration of 150 mg/g body weight. At the cellular level, significant protective effects against radiation damage were noticed. 7 figs
