The use of Cerenkov radiation for the assay of radiostrontium in aqueous solutions
Description
The Cerenkov radiation produced by the hard β-emitters Sr-89 and Y-90 is measured with good efficiency on a commercial liquid scintillation counter without interference from the soft β's of Sr-90. Using a graphical extrapolation, the Sr-89 content in freshly separated radiostrontium can be fairly estimated in presence of large excesses of Sr-90. (author)
