Production and electric conductivity of high temperature sintered YCrO3-MgCr2O4 ceramics

  • 1. Moskovskij Khimiko-Tekhnologicheskij Inst. (USSR)

Description

Considered are some problems of sintering and electric conductivity of the YCrO3-MgCr2O4 system ceramics on the base of yttrium chromite, obtained by the method of high-frequency melting in a ''cold'' container. Alloying of yttrium chromite with magnesium chromite increases the electric conductivity and improves the tensile properties and sintering of material. The advisability of the material roasting in reduced partial oxygen pressure is shown. The material electric conductivity under oxidation conditions is higher, than in the inert atmosphere, that is why it is necessary to subject it to additional heat treatment in oxidation atmosphere roasting
