Luminescence of ytterbium (3) complexes with some heterocyclic azo compounds and surfactants

Description
Effect of cationgenic surfactants-cetylpyridinum chloride and bromide, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide-on-spectral-luminescent properties of Yb ions in solutions of its complexes with 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol and 4-(2-thiazolylazo)resorcinol has been studied. Optimal conditions of the existence of formed complexes have been determined. Also, effect of foreign rare earth elements on Yb luminescence intensity in its complexes with 4-(2-thiazolyazo)resorcinol and cetylpyridynium bromide has been considered. Luminescence method of Yb determination in lutetium oxide with detection limit of 3x10-3% has been developed
