Internal friction in an a.b.c. model where interstitial occupies octahedral 0 and tetrahedral t

Description

A b.c.c. model where octahedral 0 and tetrahedral t sites are stable equilibrium positions for interstitial atoms is studied. Moreover it is assumed that interstitial diffusion proceeds by 0-t-0 jumps. The relaxation temperature dependence of symmetrized compliances has been calculated. Internal friction spectra have been calculated for different values of dipole strenghts and activation energies of the diffusion jumps. These computations show clearly for which values of the parameters internal friction spectra differ in a significant manner from a Debye peak
