Description

A method is considered for calculating nuclear reaction polarization effects which uses a graphic technique of summarizing the products of Klebsh-Gordon coefficients. To enhance the efficiency and clearness of the method, a number of methodical changes have been proposed. The main one concerns the way the reaction amplitude is presented, it having been chosen to perform its expansion in generalized Wagner coefficients rather than the expansion in the products of Klebsh-Gordon coefficients. When the amplitude of a reaction is presented in this way, orientation diagrammes of the cross-section and data describing various polarization effects are produced directly by simple general rules. To achieve the final result, it is only necessary to bring the diagramme concerned into accord with its standard form. To illustrate the use of this method, a calculation of spin moments and analyzing power has been considered for binary reactions
