Crystallization purification full scale test of U-Pu mixture

Description
Crystallization purification full scale test was performed with the use of liner crystallizer. The crystallization purification of uranyl nitrate solution and process of uranyl and plutonyl nitrate hexahydrates co-crystallization were studied. Metal yield in both cases varied from 64 to 77%. The uranium purification coefficients were about 100. Pu co-crystallization coefficient was 0.8. The principal possibility of crystallization process to obtain crystal uranyl and plutonyl nitrate hexahydrates with the usage of liner crystallizer in industrial scale was confirmed. (author)
