Design and fabrication of the CDF large angle hadron calorimetry
Description
The Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) is a general purpose detector which will study anti-proton proton collisions at 2000 GeV in the center of mass. The hadron calorimetry in the region of polar angles between 30 and 150 degrees consists of 48 13-ton and 48 7-ton steel modules fabricated at Purdue and approximately 14,000 pieces of plastic scintillator and 1300 light guides fabricated at Frascati and Pisa
