Nonmonotonic dependence of superconducting transition temperature of the YBa2Cu3O7 compound on the proton bombardment

  • 1. Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy, Moscow, USSR (USSR)

Description

The effect of bombardment with 3.9--MeV protons on the superconductive properties of YBa2Cu3O7 films in pure oxygen atmosphere has been studied. The Tc(φt) dependence on the concentration has been determined. The critical temperature Tc was found to depend nonmonotonically on the fluence. A fluence φt=0.684x1017 p/cm2 caused the Tc of the sample number-sign Z to decrease by 6 K. Subsequent bombardment to φt=1.368x1017 p/cm2 caused Tc to increase by 3 K. The increase in Tc as a result of proton bombardment contradicts the results of previous experiments on ion bombardment of high-Tc superconducting films
