Drift oscillation stabilization and their effect on plasma losses
Description
With respect to the plasma electron heat conductivity, allowance has been made for the effect of electrons trapped in the potential well of a drift wave and in a magnetic field. In so doing, the selection of the oscillation amplitude and the relationship between components of the wave vector has been dictated by the shear-stabilized oscillation condition. In a number of cases the expressions obtained are independent of the oscillation amplitude and do not disagree with experimental results found for current closed magnetic traps
