Rack for holding fuel assemblies of nuclear reactors
Description
The compact rack made of boron steel is used for storing fuel assemblers from LWR's especially PWR's. It is designed in the shape of a chequeboard pattern. Only one out of two pool elements has got a closed cover of square cross section; in this way positions that are without covers of their own are created. The shielding, which is essential for the reactivity, then results from the neighboring pool elements having got closed covers. (DG)

Das Kompaktgestell aus borhaltigem Stahl dient der Aufnahme von BE fuer LWR, insbesondere DWR. Es ist in Form eines schachbrettartigen Rasters aufgebaut. Nur jedes zweite Beckenelement besitzt eine geschlossene Huelle von quadratischem Querschnitt, so dass Positionen entstehen, die ohne eigene Huellen sind. Die fuer die Reaktivitaet wesentliche Abschirmung erfolgt dann von den benachbarten Beckenelementen mit geschlossener Huelle. (DG)Files
