Study on strength of thick reinforced concrete slab with opening - Part 3: Nonlinear finite element analysis

  • 1. Electric Power Development Company Ltd. (Japan)
  • 2. Kobori Research Complex, Inc. (Japan)

Description

The behavior of the support slab for reactor core was studied by a nonlinear finite element analysis. This analysis gave a clear picture of the load-displacement relationship, the load-main rebar strain relationship, the yield of rebar, and the crack propagation. This analysis code is fully appropriate for use in evaluating the failure procedure of the support slab for reactor core, or thick reinforced concrete slabs with an opening. (author)
