Energy density functional in Hartree-Fock + BCS approximation

Description
The density functional theory is extended on the basis of focal-scale point transformations to the time reversal symmetric Hartre-Fock (HF) + BCS subspace. Within the approach proposed a phenomenological fit of the Skyrme-like interaction to a reference set of nuclear binding energies is made. It is demonstrated that a number of ground-state characteristics of sherical even-even nuclei are then estimated with an accuracy comparable to that of more complicated self-consistent HF + BCS theory. 1 fig., 5 tabs., 18 refs
