Time-dependent Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs compactifications and Kaluza-Klein cosmologies
Description
The six-dimensional SO(3) Einstein-Yang-Mills-Higgs cosmology, with two dimensions spontaneously compactified, is shown to admit a static solution which is stable under small oscillations. Large perturbations around this static solution are studied, for particular ranges of the model parameters such that either the Yang-Mills field or the Higgs field is frozen, and the behaviour of the resulting cosmologies is obtained.
