Nucleophilic substitution of halogen in 4-haloderivatives of glutamic acid. 2. Effect of structure of arylamine as nucleophile

Description
Kinetics of nucleophilic substitution of halogen atom in diastereomers of 4-bromo- and 4-iodoglutamates with ortho-, meta-, and para-substituted anilines was studied using HPLC technique. It was found that threo-diastereomers of haloderivatives reacted 3-5 times faster than erythro ones. Transition state structure is proposed. 10 refs., 2 tabs
