'In vitro' determination of the rate of 32P uptake by erythrocytes

Description
An ''in vitro'' methodology based on 32p uptake by erythrocytes was established as a potencial method for a phosphorus sub-clinical deficiency diagnosis in ruminant. Blood samples stored up to 48 hours were incubated with 32p at different periods and temperatures. There was no effect of storage time and the greatest 32p uptake values were obtained with incubation over 2 hours at 38 to 500C. (author)

Com o intuito de se estudar metodos para o diagnostico de deficiencia sub clinica de fosforo em ruminantes, desenvolveu-se na Secao de Ciencias Animais do CENA uma tecnica ''in vitro'' baseada na incorporacao de 32p pelos eritrocitos. Amostras de sangue foram incubadas com fosforo radioativo apos diferentes periodos de estocagem e por tempo e temperaturas variadas. Observou-se que o sangue pode ser estocado por 48 horas e deve ser incubado por 2 a 3 horas a uma temperatura entre 38 e 500C. (autor)Additional details
