Description

The risk of mortality by cancer in the communes around the nuclear site of Marcoule is brought down with regard to the entire France. If we consider the whole of cancers, it exists a sub mortality by cancer of 14% in the 16 km area around the nuclear site and 20% in the smallest area of the eight communes situated downstream the site on the Rhone river. This sub mortality is expressed among the man and the women. The results for the thyroid cancers, lungs cancers and for leukemia, just as the less than fifteen years old children do not show any significant high risk. (N.C.)
