Apparatus for processing radioactive gaseous wastes

Description

Purpose: To restrict a burnup accident of activated Carbon in an activated carbon holding-up device to a minimum even if the activated carbon is burnt up accidentally by preventing the burnup of the activated carbon. Constitution: Exhaust gas produced in a main condenser of a turbine is processed through an air extractor by a preheater, a recombinator, a drier, an activated carbon holding-up device, etc. A temperature switch for applying an operation stop signal is provided at a temperature detector for detecting the temperature in the acticated carbon holding-up device, and a vacuum pump operated by a temperature signal detected by the temperature detector for generating an alarm signal when the temperature is at predetermined temperature and for evacuating exhaust gas from the air extractor and the activated carbon holding-up device when the temperature is further raised higher than predetermined limit in the radioactive gaseous waste processing apparatus of such type. The apparatus is controlled responsive to the temperature of the activated carbon by using this temperature switch. (Aizawa, K.)
