Spent fuel management in the Republic of Korea: Current status and prospects
Description
The continuous expansion and development of Nuclear Power Program in Korea have resulted in generation of the significant volume of the Nuclear Wastes. Among them, spent fuel generated from nuclear fuel cycle is one of the impending problems to be solved due to their inherent high radioactivity and long half life. Great efforts have been made to solve effectively these problems in spent fuel management which might be encountered within foreseeable future. In this presentation, the current status of spent fuel management in Korea are discussed, and the related R and D activities are briefly introduced. (author). 1 fig., 2 tabs
