Fresh fuel storage facility
Description
Purpose: To contain a plurality of fuel assemblies effectively and efficiently in a defined space. Constitution: A plurality of fuel storage racks each containing a plurality of fuel assemblies are contained in a row to a fresh fuel chamber within a nuclear reactor building. Plate-like safety curtains comprising neutron absorbers made of stainless steels are disposed between the racks while being attached to side plates of the racks. This can enables to sufficiently maintain the subcriticality of fuel assembles even when the distance between the racks is reduced, whereby the storage capacity is increased and the safety is improved even if water should intrude to the inside of the storage facility.
