Regular acceleration of cosmic rays on the outer solar wind boundary

  • 1. AN SSSR, Yakutsk. Inst. Kosmofizicheskikh Issledovanij i Aehronomii

Description

It is shown that the low-energy particles (Esub(k) < or approximately 20 MeV/nucleon) in the vicinity of a standing shock wave on the solar wind boundary undergo the regular acceleration. The spectrum form and the spatial distribution of accelerated particles in the interplanetary space are calculated. A comparison with the observed features of the cosmic ray background is carried out
