Description
Meiotic studies showed the presence of a reciprocal translocation in the variety Manon, the M2-line No. 32 (dose of 15,000 r-units). A ring of 4 chromosomes was observed in 29.80 per cent of analyzed PMC's at metaphase I. This translocation ring had a closed or open shape. In the some cases J-shaped rings were found. Pollen sterility of this line amounted 27.63 per cent. Different number of univalents, ranging from two to six, were present in 16.33 per cent of PMC's at metaphase I, with an average of 0.47 per PMC. The agglutination of chromosomes at metaphase I was a frequent phenomenon in this line. The laggard chromosomes were found at anaphase I. The phenomenon of chromosome agglutination and the occurrence of univalents were noticed at metaphase I in the M2-line No. 53 (variety Ager, dose of 15,000 r-units). The rings of 4 chromosomes were absent in this line. Pollen sterility in this line amounted 29.82 per cent; univalents were found in 11.33 per cent of PMC's only, with an average of 0.31 univalent per PMC. (orig./GSE)
Abstract (German)
(orig./AK)Additional details
