Description

Methods of EAS (electron absorption spectroscopy) and ESR are used to study interaction of ruthenium chlorocomplexes with dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). It is shown that K3[RuCl6] and K2[RuH2OCl5] complexes are dissolved in DMSO with formation of ruthenium(3) chlorodimethyl sulfoxide complex, characterized by ESR and electron absorption spectra. Ruthenium reduction up to +2 oxidation degree with formation of [RuDMSO4Cl2] complex takes place. When K2[RuCl6] is dissolved in DMSO, initial [RuCl6]2- ion is preserved for a long time in a solution along with formation of ruthenium(3) chlorodimethyl sulfoxide complex. Comparative analysis of interaction of ruthenium chloro- and bromocomplexes with DMSO is carried out
