Ion-acoustic double layers
Description
Small-amplitude ion-acoustic double layers in a magnetized plasma have been studied, taking account of Poisson's equation. Both analytical and numerical solutions are obtained for compressive and rarefactive double layers. It is found that the results are significantly different from the case when quasi-neutrality is assumed. (author)
