New spectrometry method for metals research

This paper reports the development of a form of spectrometry to study metal surfaces and species adsorbed at those surfaces. Called time-of-flight scattering and recoiling spectrometry (TOF-SARS), the method may find use in characterizing surfaces, studying catalysts, and investigating embrittlement and stress cracking of metals by hydrogen
