Description

Activated carbon (AC) is an organic material with large surface area and network of pores where adsorption take place. AC is used on a vast scale in gas and water purification, metal extraction, medicine and many other applications. In this study, AC has been used for investigation, as a potential candidate, for laboratory separation process of technetium. The main aim of this contribution is to investigate the separation of the 99Tc (TcO4-) using five different samples of AC that were prepared in different ways. Several solutions (NaOH, NaClO4, NaNO3, (EDTA) + 10 mg SnCl2) with the different concentrations at different conditions (T grad C; pH) for investigation of TcO4- desorption were used. Each sample of AC proved different ability to desorption of TcO4-. (authors)
