Sorption of transition metal ions on sodium amberlite IRC-50

Sorption of Cu/sup 2+/, Ni/sup 2+/ and Zn/sup 2+/ ions on the carboxylic cation exchanger IRC-60 in Na/sup +/ form was studied at 302 K, which was found to depend on the electrostatic interaction, ionic potential and pH of hydrolysis of transition metal cations. Sorption data fitted to the Kurbatov equation. The order of selectivity was found to be Cu/sup 2/> Zn/sup 2+/ Ni/sup 2+/. (author)
