Effect of Carbon Concentration on Electrical Properties of FexC1-X Composite Materials

  • 1. Centre for Nuclear Industry Material Technology, National Nuclear Energy Agency, Serpong (Indonesia)

Description

The study on effect of carbon concentration to the electric property of composite materials FexC1-x has been carried out. The composite materials of FexC1-x was prepared by mixture of Fe and carbon (C) powder, with composition ratio of Fe and C are 20 : 80; 30 : 70; 40 : 60; 50 : 50; 60 : 40; 70 : 30 and 80 : 20 (w.%) and total weight of composite is 20 gram. Each of this composite material then processed by milling for 4.5 hours, and afterwards the composite material was performed to a pellet compaction under the pressure of 5000 psi. Then the electrical property of the pellet was measured by using LCR meter instrument. The measurement result showed that the value of conductivity and capacitance were increasing with the increasing of carbon concentration in composite of FexC1-x. (author)
