Description

A standardized ageing management concept is currently being implemented in the EnBW nuclear power stations at Philippsburg and Neckarwestheim, in cooperation with experts and authorities. The contribution describes the concept for mechanical components of safety-relevant systems. There are two categories, i.e. M1, integrity concept, and M2, concept of preventive maintenance. In components of M1, failure must be excluded. For this purpose, a knowledge base was compiled in the form of so-called documentation sheets oriented along the specifications of KTA 3201.4 for quality inspection (execution, relevant loads, stress, fatigue, fracture-mechanical analyses). Component integrity during operation is to be ensured by operational monitoring. In the case of group M2 components, failure is permissible, and quality is ensured on the basis of design data and operating experience. Monitoring of the effects of relevant damage mechanisms during operation is achieved by methods of preventive maintenance, including recurrent inspections. (orig.)
