New possibilities for high energy physics
Creators
Description
The development of a niobium-tin superconducting magnet is reported. It is capable of supplying a field strength of about 10 T at a temperature of -269 deg.C. It will be used in the new generation of particle accelerators, viz. the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and the Superconducting Super Collider in the USA. (G.T.H.)
