Irradiation Test of High-Temperature Materials in HANARO for the I-NERI Project

Description

This report focuses on the irradiation of high-temperature materials of the I-NERI project such as 9Cr-1Mo and 9Cr-1Mo-1W. The 1st capsule for an irradiation of 9Cr-1Mo specimens was irradiated in the OR5 test hole of HANARO with a 30 MW thermal power at 390±10 .deg. C up to a fast neutron fluence of 4.4x1019 (n/cm2) (E>1.0 MeV) in March 2008. The dpa of the 1st irradiated specimens was evaluated to be 0.034∼0.07. Based on the results of the 1st irradiation test, the 2nd capsule for an irradiation of 9Cr-1Mo-1W specimens was designed and fabricated. It was irradiated in the same conditions at the same hole in March 2009, one year after the 1st capsule was irradiated. The fast neutron fluence in the capsule reaches 1.13∼4.2x1019 (n/cm2) (E>1.0MeV), and the dpa of the 2nd irradiated specimens was evaluated to be 0.033∼0.067. This report deals with only an irradiation test among the works of the material properties, the irradiation test, post-irradiation test and the He effect carried out in the project 'Irradiation Effects on High Temperature Materials'
