Mount design for radio telescope for solar application

The design of an altazimuth mounting was presented in response to the need to provide researchers at the Centro de Investigaciones Espaciales (CINESPA) with the necessary tools to carry out research in the field of astrophysics. The atmospheric, seismic and geographical conditions were taken into account to define the application requirements. The Sun's relative movement to Earth and its nature in the radio spectrum were studied. The possibility of reusing the previous frame was evaluated. A systemic design approach was developed to explore various solutions, in order to determine an option that would involve less investment, greater ease of construction and installation, without compromising functionality. The detailed design and selection were made with only limited mechanical components. The design of a completely new frame was made due to the complexity of reusing the previous frame.
