VERDON - fuel pin mechanical and thermal behaviour code

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Cadarache, 13 - Saint-Paul-lez-Durance (France). Dept. de Developpement des Elements Combustibles

Description

Verdon code must be used for analysis and simulation of mechanical, two dimensional, thermal and physico-chemical behavior of fuel oxide pin in steady-state and transient conditions. Calculation can be done in plane or axisymetric geometry. Radial, one dimensional, thermal analysis works with finite differences. It takes into account the fissile material's evolution (radial redistribution, flux deepening) and the main fuel physico-chemical properties (conductivity, migration, fission gas release). (orig.)
