Cadmium and zinc complexes with 1,10-phenanthroline and bengal pink B

  • 1. Kievskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

The paper studies the interaction between zinc (cadmium) 1,10-phenanthroline [PhEN] and rose bengal B [BR] in a 5x10-6 - 5x10-5M concentration of reacting substances. The formation of [Me/PhEN2]2+BR2- associations in chloroform extracts was proved. Reagent extraction studies provided a basis for a detailed specification of the chemical characteristics of the interaction and for calculating the extraction constants. It is shown that zinc can be determined quantitatively in an aluminium alloy with a content of 1-20 μg zinc in a 5 ml chloroform extract
