Methods of fission product separation from liquid radioactive wastes

Description
The fission products present in bumt-up nuclear fuel represent a troublesome and dangerous by-product of nuclear energy but also a potentially useful source of nuclear radiation. The review is concerned with the present situation and with forecasts concerning increases in the amount of fission products, their nuclear and chemical properties, their applications and methods of separating them from highly active wastes. Particular attention is paid to the most recent and promising methods. (authors)
